GLOUCESTERSHIRE cricket’s new signing Andrew Tye received the Perth Scorchers Fan’s Player of the Season award.

The award, for the Big Bash League, was voted for by fans in Tye’s native Australia via an online poll in which Tye received 32per cent of the vote, with Shaun Marsh in second receiving 17.33per cent.

Tye finished the Big Bash League with the fourth-most wickets, tallying 13 dismissals from nine games, with an economy rate of 7.05 and average of 18, with his good form leading to an Australian T20 International call-up.

Gloucestershire’s captain, Michael Klinger, was also voted into the top three, finishing with an equal number of votes as David Willey.

Tye and Klinger will be back in action for Gloucestershire this summer in the 2016 NatWest T20 Blast competition.
