Stratton Youth FC round-up.

Marlborough U13s 4 Stratton Youth U13s 7

THREE players scored hat-tricks in a very entertaining game in which Stratton U13s won 7-4 at Marlborough.

Ronaldo Bloomfield hit three for the home side and the man of the match award for Stratton was shared between their goal aces Barney Kimber and Charlie Love.

A heavy pitch was tough going and Stratton elected to play up the steep slope in the first half which proved invaluable as legs tired in the second half.

There were defensive mistakes from both sides in the opening half which led to three goals.

The second half saw Stratton tighten up their defence allowing the midfield to take control of the game.

Four further goals came Stratton's way with Marlborough only adding another one.

Joshua Littler-Jennings chipped in a goal to add to Stratton's two hat-trick scorers.

Stratton Youth U18s 2

Shrivenham Royals U18s 5

STRATTON'S U18s gave themselves too much to do when going 4-1 behind to the unbeaten Shrivenham Royals in the first half.

They gifted the visitors a goal in the first minute by not tackling. Five minutes later the Stratton goalkeeper passed the ball to a Shrivenham player, who had an easy tap-in to double the advantage.

On 15 minutes, Stratton got back into the game. A great team passing move was coolly finished by Michael White.

Stratton began to wake up but gave Shrivenham far too much time and respect resulting in the away side making it 3-1 on 25 minutes.

Stratton did battle but were then 4-1 down just before the break after another goalkeeping error. The second half saw Stratton show their true colours and they had numerous chances, mostly created after closing down the opposition.

Shrivenham did have a couple of half-chances, but it was Stratton who looked more threatening, although Shrivenham scored again on 75 minutes, very much against the run of play.

Stratton were rewarded with a great team passing goal five minutes from time, when Sam Grafton finished off the well-worked move.

MoM: Harry Rogers.

The poor weather continued to disrupt fixtures with both the U14 and U16 matches postponed, while the Mini section saw the U7s away at Stratton Jnrs where Finley Stratford scored twice and Ezra Allen got on the score sheet.

The U8s were at home to Ashton Keynes while the U10s drew a rare blank home to Lydiard.
