50 BOURTON Roadrunners excelled at a four-stage relay race in the Cotswolds.
The race, which took place in Condicote, saw club members organised into 13 teams, each covering two one-mile loops around the picturesque countryside.
While the event formed part of the club's competition series, aiming to earn points through times, its primary purpose was to foster a spirit of camaraderie among runners of varying abilities.
Members also participated in a charitable effort, supporting the Cotswold Food Bank with a generous donation of essential items.
Among the standout performers was Alex Pye, who clocked the fastest overall time of 11 minutes and two seconds, while Steph Lane was the fastest female runner, finishing in 11:32.
John Conway, a club newcomer from the couch-to-5k programme, and new member Dorcas Guillebaud both had some determined performances in their first club event.
The competitive spirit continued with a father-and-son showdown between Dougal Hamilton-Smith, who finished in 11:58, and his father Craig at 12:09, with Dougal narrowly winning the sprint to the finish line.
The day before the relay race, Kevin Goodwill participated in the Birmingham League Cross Country in Wolverhampton.
Taking on a challenging course, Goodwill was pleased with his time of 45 minutes and 22 seconds in the 6.1-mile race.
As always, Roadrunners, had members participating at various park run locations over the weekend.
At Bicester, Matt Price clocked 28:59, Liz Hulcup 29:20, Louise Hamilton-Smith 29:21, and Kate Price 31:32.
At Cannon Hill in Birmingham, Helena West finished in 31:21.
Chipping Norton School saw Jenny Evanson finish at 38:02, while Cirencester had Patricia Penteado at 57:21.
At Denton Dene in Newcastle Linda Edwards finished in 29:36.
At King George V Playing Field in Cheltenham Chris Dry finished at 30:32.
Susan Hunt finished at 26:17 at Sixfield Upton in Northampton.
Finally, University Parks in Oxford saw Gary Holton at 30:13 and Steph Holton at 30:14.
