A BOURTON Roadrunner has made a triumphant start to the running season, cutting five minutes off his personal best.
Barry O’Leary slashed time off his personal best in the Warwick Half Marathon, completing the 13.1-mile course in one hour, 51 minutes, and 46 seconds.
There were 2,300 runners on the day, among them were Susan Hunt, who finished in 1:56:49, Claire Carroll at 2:10:39, and Linda Edwards at 2:11:53.
Meanwhile, Kevin Goodwill competed in his first cross-country race at the Cotswold Farm Park in the Oxfordshire Cross Country League.
Running in the senior men’s category, he completed the challenging 8.25 kilometre course in 39 minutes and 32 seconds.
Goodwill, however, did not limit himself to just one race over the weekend.
The day before he took part in the Mayhill Massacre, an eight-mile route featuring tough climbs and muddy trails.
Running in the Canicross category with his dog Meg, Goodwill finished as the first man and third overall in a time of one hour, four minutes, and 46 seconds.
Rebecca Townsend, in top form, also ran the course and finished as the first lady and 10th overall with a time of 1:06:04.
Roadrunners also joined countless others at a range of parkrun venues.
This included Battersea, Chipping Norton School, Evesham, Gloucester City, and Harkerville in South Africa.
Susan Hunt completed her 400th parkrun in Evesham, and Louise Hamilton-Smith and Liz Hulcup achieved personal bests in Gloucester City.
