THE Festive spirit continued for Bourton Roadrunners, who competed throughout their Christmas celebrations at a number of venues.
Alongside numerous runners competing in park runs, Janice Townsend and Tony Goodwill put in strong performances in Christmas events, flying the flag for Bourton during the festivities.
Goodwill made a stop on-route to his Christmas celebrations at the Hereford Couriers Christmas 10k.
Alongside 400 other keen participants, Goodwill completed the 6.2 miles of country lanes in an impressive 54 minutes and 44 seconds - finishing third in the MV65 category on the day.
Meanwhile, Townsend travelled to the village of Chadlington in Oxfordshire, to take on the annual Great Brook Run - a race believed to have its roots in the first great Viking invasion of Chadlington.
Despite the race only being just over a mile in distance, the real challenge of the event presents itself through the many obstacles and challenges the runners are required to overcome on their way to the finish line.
While not a timed event, Townsend completed the course in 20 minutes and four seconds.
"It was so chilly and deep," she said after the event. "I could barely get my feet moving at the end, even the ladder getting out was a challenge too."
Various parkrun venues offered a special Christmas-day event, with number of Bourton Roadrunners showing out on Christmas morning to compete.
Goodwill competed in the Evesham event, finishing with a time of just over 25 minutes, alongside Claire Cox, Iain Cox, Tim Hemming, Nick Harper and Lynn Hudson.
Christ Dry ran through with a time of 32 minutes, 54 seconds in the Cardiff race, which Cath Nesbitt finished in 31 minutes and 58 seconds in the Cheltenham Pittville Park race.
Linda Edwards was the final club runner who competed in a Christmas Day parkrun, completing the Tetbury iteration in 35 minutes and 45 seconds.
Three days later, it was back to the normal Saturday parkrun schedule, which saw nine more runners from Bourton compete.
An impressive time of 18 minutes, 17 seconds was ran by Edward Hare in Solihull, while Tim Hemming finished the Fleetwood Promenade run in 21 minutes, 27 seconds.
Chris Dry and Barry O'Leary both turned out in Cheltenham and Cork respectively, with five runners showing out in the Stratford-upon-Avon event.
Darren Long, Susan Hunt, Liz Hulcup, Louise Hamilton-Smith and Tom Knight all raced in Stratford. Long finished with the best time, coming in in 18 minutes, 58 seconds.
