ONLY one match was completed across the four league matches involving Cirencester sides last weekend as the stormy conditions put an end to most games of cricket across the country.

The firsts, seconds and fourths all had their games cut short half-way through, whilst the 3XI did manage to get their game done.

Ciren had posted 184/5 from 40 overs and a revised target of 142 was set for the hosts Barnsley Beeches, who crossed the line in the 27th over for a four-wicket victory.

Otherwise, there was little cricket past about 4PM on Saturday. The 1XI were playing in their home game with Frocester in the West of England Premier League (Gloucestershire).

Having won the toss, the visitors put themselves into bat and were 48/3 before Rhys Lamplugh camer to the crease. he managed to stay in for the rest of the innings to post 61 not-out off 118 deliveries.

Sam Birch scored a quickfire 26 off 13 from the tail and valuable contributions from the likes of Wimmar Perera (34) and James Austen (44) saw them post 201-6 from their 50 overs.

It was a winnable game for the away side but just as they began their response, the rain arrived inside the first over of Cirencester's innings and that was that for the game.

Cirencester picked up nine points from the contest and Frocester 10.

The 2XI had posted a large total of 256-5 from just 40 overs in their league clash at Sheepscombe. Alex Tatara-Mills was not-out with 75 and opener Brett Logan scored 62.

But in the 12th over of the home team's response, the game was abandoned. Cirencester took 13 points from the game, whilst eight were awarded to Sheepscombe.

Finally, the 3XI also had their game called off before they could face a single delivery. Charlton had scored 240 off 40 overs for the loss of just four wickets but the rain came before Ciren could come out to bat and that was that.
