MALMESBURY’S Louis Harvey has taken a big step forward in his racing career by obtaining a licence to race cars, both open wheel and saloon at race tracks around the country.
It was a fantastic long weekend for the 16-year-old who on Friday, September 24, had the privilege of taking his ARDS test in a Porsche Cayman at Thruxton race circuit and passing.
A prerequisite for racing a car rather than a kart required Louis Harvey to attend to take his Association of Racing Drivers Schools test. With very limited driving experience in a car, due to his age, Harvey had no issues in displaying the skills and precision required to achieve a pass, scoring 100 per cent and being complemented on his car control.
He is now looking forward to a test day in a Formula Ford with Kev Mills Racing later this year.
Harvey followed up his test success with a second place finish in the Fulbeck Kart Club meeting, ahead of the next British Karting Championship round there this weekend.
A good result for Harvey and Klaassen Motorsport following an engine issue.
