CIRENCESTER head pro Ed Goodwin has retained his Total Triumph Order of Merit crown.

With the Gloucester & Somerset PGA season unable to be completed due to Covid-19, the title was determined by the standings in March when lockdown first came into force.

At the time, Goodwin – who was winning the prestigious title for the third time – held a narrow advantage over Lee Corfield (Isle of Wedmore) and Giuseppe Licata (Filton).

Ed and Lee go forward to play for Gloucester & Somerset in the County Finals this October at Sutton Coldfield Golf Club.

There can be no doubt that Ed was a deserved champion as he won six of the 23 tournaments played.

“I was delighted with my consistency,” said Ed, “as I missed a top-10 finish only once in the whole series.”

Luke Gaskins, who has joined the professional staff at Cirencester since the restart of the sport, finished fifth in the Order of Merit field of 48 players

The top 16 G&S players will hopefully tee it up at Chipping Sodbury in September for their next scheduled event, the Courage Matchplay.
