A YOUNG Gloucestershire racing driving is raring to get back on track after seeing his maiden season in Formula 4 delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Zak O’Sullivan, 15, from Withington near Cirencester, is set to make a summer start to his maiden British F4 season following the postponement of all racing.
The season will now provisionally kick off at Donington Park on August 1-2. When the action gets underway, O’Sullivan will drive for the Carlin team in his first year of single-seater racing.
He said: “We were originally due to start racing at the end of March but it quickly became clear that would be impossible.
“August is a way off yet but I am already raring to go. Like thousands of racing drivers around the world, I’ve been keeping sharp on my sim - but nothing beats being in a real racing car.
“I’m keeping everything crossed we will be starting to win the battle against this awful disease by the summer and we can get back on track in August.”
Last year O’Sullivan was the youngest-ever winner of the Ginetta Junior Championship Rookie Cup.
