Cirencester Town 4

Moneyfields FC 1

BOSS John Brough worked his half-time magic to help Cirencester Town come from behind to blitz Moneyfields with a four-goal second half salvo, writes Dave Pyzer

Play-off chasing Cirencester conceded a goal moments before going to the interval, but three goals in 10 minutes shortly after the break was enough to secure victory and move Brough's side two points shy of the play-offs.

Despite plenty of possession Cirencester rarely tested the Moneyfields keeper in a scrappy’ first half and it was Steve Hutchings who nosed Moneyfields ahead at the break.

From the second half get-go Ciren found parity when Josh Nelmes powered his header into the net after a lively and intricate opening move had resulted in a corner kick.

Four minutes later Cirencester took the lead when Mike Pook darted forward to finish with a glancing header at the near post and within a few minutes another neat piece of play supplied the ball to Jonny Dennis on the edge of the box and he produced one of his customary curling’ finishes into the top right corner.

Cirencester continued to press with their quick, free-flowing football to create a number of good chances to increase their lead and on the occasions Moneyfields countered the home defence was in determined mood with both Nelmes and Will Wellon giving little away although the final quarter did see a period of pressure from the visitors as they pushed forward in search of a way back into the game.

With 10 minutes remaining Moneyfields suffered a further setback when they were reduced to 10 men as Hutchings was awarded a second yellow card and in added-time Nelmes completed the scoring as he finished from the edge of the six- yard box.
