Cirencester Golf Club
Gloucester & Somerset PGA
CIRENCESTER pro Ed Goodwin made it back-to-back wins on the Gloucester & Somerset PGA circuit – and claimed his fourth victory of the season – in the latest G&S Medal at Clevedon Golf Club on the Bristol Channel coast, writes Danny Hall.
The in-form Goodwin has closed to within 16 points of the series leader Lee Corfield in his bid to retain the coveted Total Triumph Order of Merit title he won last year.
The Clevedon greenstaff had re-instated the white tees for the pros to play from and this made the course play every yard of its length as conditions underfoot remained soft.
The Cirencester man returned a hard-earned 2 under par round of 70, which included four birdies, but just like last week at Weston he had to share top spot, this time with Gloucester Golf Centre’s Jamie Dick.
