MALMESBURY race ace Louis Harvey settled for third after early dominance at the Shenington Kart Club's winter series.

Harvey started on pole, but could not quite hold on for the win in the final. Team-mate Ben Higgins posted his first race win in the TKM series and Dominic Kilmister finished second.

Earlier, heat one saw Harvey way down the grid in 13 and despite the testing conditions, some precision driving in the first lap saw Harvey climb straight up to third, taking second by lap two behind Higgins. The two team-mates worked together and pulled out an eight-second gap on the field with Harvey taking the lead on the second to last lap and then the chequered flag - also setting the fastest lap of the race.

Heat two saw Harvey cross the line second behind Kilmister. The results from the heats placed Harvey on pole for the final and he was looking for his first win of the season. What followed was a fantastic race with Harvey, Higgins and Kilmister all taking turns to control the lead. With Higgins finally taking the chequered flag with Kilmister second and Harvey third.

Harvey said: β€œIt was a great race and we had two Klaassen Motorsport drivers on the podium so a good weekend all round for the team.”

Ben Watson also took third-place in his first Senior TKM race after moving up from juniors this year.
