PLAYER RATINGS:
Steven Benda – 6.5
A couple of excellent saves, and distribution was good. Let down by a static defence in the second half.
Rob Hunt – 5
Good cross to set up Town’s only goal, but a poor touch to gift Crewe their third. Kirk controlled play in this area.
Mathieu Baudry – 4.5
Gifted possession away cheaply more than once. Static for hosts’ second. Will want to make up for it against Stevenage.
Gabriel Zakuani – 6
Certainly should’ve done better before Crewe’s second goal. But delivered a no nonsense performance. Blocked several key shots and crosses.
Dion Donohue – 4.5
Left trailing his man before Crewe’s opener. Fortunate not to be booked after a series of challenges. Was dominated in first half.
Anthony Grant – 5.5
Got stuck in as usual. But Crewe dictated play in midfield and never allowed the Shrewsbury man a real sight.
Lloyd Isgrove – 5
Barely noticed throughout the game. Lack of forward movement, not much creativity when Town rarely ran forward.
Jordan Lyden – 5
Passing was backwards, easily dispossessed at times. Did however perform better prior to half time when adopting No.10 role.
Keshi Anderson – 4
Sloppy giveaway of possession, and easy to see why he was substituted so early. Must pick up his work rate levels sooner than later.
Jerry Yates – 5
Lots of running, very little time on the ball. Struggled to win 50-50s and will want to put this one behind.
Eoin Doyle – 6.5
An excellent finish to put Town ahead. Excluding that, didn’t see the ball too much. Crewe’s defence held firm.
