MALMESBURY'S Louis Harvey and Klaassen Motorsport raced to the Rissington Championship title.

Harvey extend his lead further to win the Junior TKM class on his Klaassen Motorsport ARC chassis and again setting the fastest lap of the weekend for his class.

The final rounds of the championship incorporate the Midlands Championship which Harvey had his sights on winning having been vice champion four times. Unfortunately on lap 7 of final one he was smashed off the track into the tyres and had to settle for 14 which also denied him a clean sweep of podium finishes for the whole championship and put pay to him winning the Midland Championships.

With the heat points tallied, Harvey started from 3rd for both the finals. As final 1 got underway Harvey was straight into the lead and battling with kart 24. A nice clean overtake by no 24 dropped Harvey to 2nd until lap seven when kart 33 who was chasing hit Harvey in turn one launching the kart into a spin and off into the tyre barrier. By the time Harvey had recovered he was right near the back of the pack and could only get himself back to 14th at the finish line. Kart 33 was given a 5 second penalty for the incident but this would be the only final in the 2019 championship that Harvey was not on the podium.

Final 2 was a race that ended with the top four drivers almost crossing the finishing line together it was that close. Harvey was straight into 2nd place after the start and pushed with no 24 to try and get away from the pack. On the second to last lap Harvey put in an excellent overtake on 24 to take the lead. As Harvey and 24 battled for supremacy karts 33 and 17 closed the gap as they approached the final two corners. 24 made a dive for the win on the second to last corner forcing Harvey to take the outside line but he was able to claw the lead back as they rounded the final bend. As both Harvey and 24 were slightly off the racing line due to their battling kart 33 was able to carry a little more speed and just got his nose over the line ahead of Harvey by five hundredth of a second to take the win.
