Ladies & Seniors Greensomes
The annual Ladies and Seniors Greensomes competition was very closely contested – until the very last group out saw Jan Stephens & Neil Halls blow away the opposition.
Course maintenance week made for some "interesting" putting and 10 pairs put in respectable totals of between 32 and 34 points in the stableford format with the best score on each hole to count.
It appeared for much of the afternoon that new member Jackie Wells & Terry McQuirk would take the honours overall, but then Jan & Neil came in with an extraordinary 43 points to wrest the top prize.
The other prize winners, for nearest the pin, were Mike Kirman (2nd hole) and Jan Stephens, who just pipped Gerry Bruton on the 13th.
Rabbits Cup
One of the annual knockout competitions has been decided with the 2019 Rabbits Cup – for those whose handicap has never been below 19 – being won by Richard Merry.
The 19-handicapper beat Pete Crawford (20) in the final.
