Cirencester Town have signed attacking midfielder John Dennis following a successful trial with the club.

The former Didcot Town, Reading City and Abingdon United man impressed Cirencester boss Charlie Griffin in friendlies against Swindon Supermarine and Fairford Town.

Dennis, 22, becomes Cirencester’s fifth signing of the summer.

He can also play out wide and up front.

Griffin is chuffed to have Dennis on board at the Corinium.

“We’ve wanted him for a while,” he said.

“I saw him for Abingdon against our development side last year.

“He then went to Didcot and scored a few goals there.

“There were a few clubs keen on him, he was interested in coming and getting to know the lads.

“The more he trains with the lads, they’ll get to know his game and I think he’ll be a great addition for us.”
