A 14-year-old from Malmesbury is continuing to make waves in the motorsport world, setting a new lap record at the UK British Karting Championships.

Louis Harvey walked away from the weekend championships with two third place trophies and the event lap record in his class.

Following the three heats in the build up t the race Harvey found himself in third position after his points were added up.

By lap two he was leading the race.

Harvey fought well as he battled with Oates the current championship leader but on lap 14 was down into second and battling with Watson. Harvey and Watson crossed the line side by side with Watson 2nd just a nose in front and Harvey having to settle for 3rd place.

In the other final, he again started from 3rd position and quickly found himself in the lead.

He lead from the front for 19 laps of the 21 but a mistake let Watson and Oates again get past him to relegate him to third position.

So despite the trophies and podiums it was a frustrating day for Harvey who had the lead in both races.

His scores from the weekend did provide him with a boost and pushed him back up towards the top of the driver's standings chart in to fourth position overall in the championship.
