Cirencester Town have signed defender Will Tunnicliff from Evesham United.

Tunnicliff joins on a permanent deal having had a previous loan spell with the club.

He can play in a number of positions including centre back and left back.

The former Gloucester City man is Charlie Griffin's first signing of the summer and the Cirencester boss is delighted to have him on board.

"We're pleased because he's naturally left-sided and we know what he can do," said Griffin.

"He was on loan with us a couple season back and I've watched him a few times and he's stood out.

"He's a strong lad, he'll bring physicality and good competition.

Ben Whitehead has left Cirencester for Weston-super-Mare while Owen Windsor is set to join West Bromwich Albion.

Griffin also confirmed that Louis Spalding, Ellis Dunton and Mateusz Wieczorek will not be returning next season.

"We offered them things," he said. "Louis came from the professional game and he wants to progress and go higher.

"Ellis is down to work commitments while Mat did ever so well but missed a lot through injuries.

"They've all been great and leave on good terms."

Players committing for next season are Alan Griffin, Sam Ayres, Will Christopher, Tommy Anderson, Michael Pook, Jack Freeman, Aidan Bennett, Baboucarr Jarra, Jordan Morris, Scott Rose and James Mortimer-Jones.
