Cirencester Athletics and Triathlon Club

London Marathon, 26.2 miles road

Rob Brown joined over 42 thousand other runners for the 39th London Marathon to finish 1529th in 2.55.

Robbie ran a good, consistent race averaging around 6.30 mileing, only slowing slightly towards the end.

Next in for the club was Kate Sackett running below her best having been unable to give her usual 110% to training for sometime. Louise Horner-Baggs reported hitting the wall around mile 22 making her fight to finish in 4.02 even more impressive.

She was followed by Rachel Ranger who only allowed the crowds and the hype to take a couple of minutes from her first marathon time at Chester last year.

Finally a triumphant Sam Timms crossed the line in 5.12 with another nine and half thousand still behind her.

Shakespeare ½ Marathon, Stratford-on-Avon, 13.1 miles road

He hopes to recover in time for his next target, the Fairford 10k.

1 Matthew Battley (Coventry Godiva Harriers) 1.12.52

Fellsman, Ingleton Yorkshire 61miles trail

In the absence of official results we can only report that Lara Tompson completed this gruelling race in around 24 hours 14 mins. We understand she was 178th to complete the event after enduring bitter winds and rain, climbing more than 12,000ft including over two of the summits known to the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and navigating (albeit in a safety enforced group) over open moorland throughout the night. Sadly Andy Hindson had to withdraw fairly early on.
