Forest Green beat Tranmere Rovers on Good Friday in League Two- but how did we rate the players?

James Montgomery 8 Given the nod ahead of Ward. Had an early wobble but was imperious thereafter. Managed the game well when Tranmere turned the screw in the second-half.

Liam Shephard 7 Mr Consistent was exactly that. A threat going forward and solid as a rock when called to defend.

Farrend Rawson 9 In a rich vein of form and along with McGinley he expertly nullified League Two player of the year James Norwood.

Nathan McGinley 8 Back to his best – and stood up to everything that Tranmere threw at him. Rightly incandesant with rage when a fan was alleged to have spat at him just before the final whistle.

Joe Mills 8 Fantastic bit of skill to kill the ball dead and arrow a ball across the box to assist Mondal for his sumptuous strike. A goal and two assists in his last two games.

Lee Collins 6 Started the game brightly at the base of Rovers’ midfield. A few misplaced passes blighted his contribution. Hooked for Gunning.

Carl Winchester 7 Worked his proverbial socks off with another all-action 90 minutes.

Reece Brown 7 When Brown had the ball, he may as well been an orchestra conductor with a baton. One moment showed how FGR fans hang off his every move – his sublime pass to Mills started the move that saw Mondal score the only goal of the game.

George Williams 6 Clattered the advertising boards and bashed his ankle – hooked at the break.

Christian Doidge 6 Spurned a late opportunity to make it 2-0. Monthe kept Doidge in check.

Junior Mondal 8 Regarded as a raw rookie but is growing in stature. Boy can he spank the ball and he delivered just after the break with a howitzer of a strike.

Subs: Dayle Grubb 6 Replaced the injured Williams at the break. Did well to create his own chance but will be disappointed not to score.

Gavin Gunning 6 Twenty-minute cameo and helped shore things up for Rovers.

Paul Digby 6 Played his part in seeing the game out.
