Cirencester College’s futsal team has reached the final round of the FA People’s Cup final.
The seven students - Alex Turland, Harry Wadey, Jack Hughes, Jimmy Seager, Rob Haines, and Sam Jenkins and captain Truan Taylor are within touching distance of winning the competition which would see them lift the trophy at this seasons FA Cup final.
They won two and drew one of their three matches against Hartpury College in the regional semi-final to progress.
Due to competition rules only two academy, or semi-professional players, are allowed to compete in FA People’s Cup so players came from a range of A-level programmes.
Speaking about the group’s success, Sports Engagement Officer Jess Huddleston said: “I’m really pleased with the way the team performed.
“The players all conducted themselves with absolute professionalism, both on and off the pitch and exceeded all expectations and I’m proud of their accomplishments.”
The final round of the FA People’s Cup will be held at St George’s Park in Burton-upon-Trent in April.
