Bourton Rovers 2 - 0 Highworth

Bourton Rovers kept their title alive as two first half goals were enough to sink Highworth on Saturday.

Rovers welcomed back Connor Teague to the starting 11 after three weeks out.

The game started with both teams battling for possession but creating little chances.

In the 15th minute Rovers Teague created a half chance with some good footwork but was unable to find the target.

At times Highworth played some good football and brought Rovers keeper Simon Flower into action in the 28th minute but he was able to pull off a low save to keep the game level.

Rovers however, opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Steve Nurse turned nicely in the box and drilled the pull calmly into the bottom right corner of the Highworth goal.

Rovers then dominated the rest of the half and doubled their lead in the 43rd minute from a corner when Teague volleyed the ball home at the near post.

The second half opened up with Rovers continuing to dominate possession and creating a number of half chances.

Steve Nurse had a chance to make it three in the 63rd minute but failed to find a way pass the Highworth keeper. Rovers continued to look dangerous from corners with Jack Robson and Craig Gilson dominating the aerial battles.

As the game drew to a close Highworth created a couple of good chances but were unable to breakdown the Rovers backline and they held out for the win.

Bourton are 15 points behind leaders Moreton Rangers but have five games in hand and can go level on points with them if they win them all.
