Karting sensation Louis Harvey overcame Storm Freya to win all the junior TKM heats and both rounds of the 2019 Rissington Kart Club Championships.

Saturday testing went well with the weather holding off but everyone was clearly concerned by the weather forecast for Sunday’s two club championship rounds.

As wind and rain hit overnight everyone woke up to very difficult conditions which deteriorated as the day progressed.

To kick off the day was timed qualifying which set the drivers up with their positions for the heats.

Harvey, from Malmesbury, drove hard but was clipped and turned around early in the session but recovered well to put in the second fastest lap of the session.

The race heats started very similarly with Harvey being on the outside for the first corner and had to slot into third place to begin his challenge from there.

By mid-race and with heat in his tyres, he battled with Oates and Coles for the front.

With clean well timed overtaking he was into the lead which he held to the line and took the wins.

All the points added from the heats and Harvey was on pole for the finals of Rounds one and two of this year championships.

Final one saw a good clean start from Harvey put him out in front with Coles hot on his heals.

With conditions deteriorating rapidly, all the drivers had to contend with very poor visibility, gale force winds and standing water on the track.

Over the course of the 12 lap race, Harvey edged away and crossed the line for the win with a 1.2 second gap over Coles in second and Smith followed up in 3rd.

Final two was almost a repeat of final one with another clean start from Harvey.

Cole and Smith were pushing hard to catch Harvey but by lap nine they had started battling for the second place.

Harvey crossed the line for the second win with over a 1.5 second gap with Smith in second and Coles in third this time.

He was over the moon with his performance in the conditions, taking his tally of wins in 2019 to four.

It's also the fifth time on the trot that Klaassen Motorsport and the ARC Chassis have not only been on the podium but been on the top step.

Klaassen Motorsports ARC chassis driven by Matt Allnut also took the both final wins in the Senior TKM class this weekend.

Harvey's next race will be the final round of the Shenington Winter Series later this month where he is hoping to defend his second place standing.
