Cirencester Rugby Club's ladies team played their first ever game against Melksham at the weekend.
The ladies team, which is in partnership with the Royal Agricultural University, did lose their friendly against a Melksham side who have been together for two years but the squad gained some valuable experience and game time.
Director of Rugby Andy Deacon said: "In beautiful spring weather, the girls really did themselves proud.
"Although we lost it was an invaluable experience to play Melksham Ladies, who have been together for two years.
"It was a great learning curve for the girls and rewarding to see the smiles on faces."
The Ladies still have the door open to new players and welcome anyone who wishes to join to head over to training at Cirencester Rugby Club on Tuesday's at 6.30pm.
