Purton.......................... 0

Purton were held to a goalless draw away at Marlborough Town in the Wiltshire League on Saturday.

It was a game of missed opportunities on Saturday as Purton travelled to Marlborough in the league.

With numerous players absent on a stag do, it was another opportunity for Purton to shuffle the pack and give some needed game time to a number of players.

Purton were the dominant team throughout, with Will Backhouse the livelier of the players in the first half, creating multiple chances but nothing to really test the opposition keeper.

Marlborough came out in the opening stages of the second half and caused a few problems for the Purton defence; with one claim for a penalty that was waved away by the referee.

Purton then got themselves back into the game, and realistically should have put the game to bed with Chris Avery, Nathan Marland and Daren Regis all missing glorious chances.

The game finished 0-0 with both teams probably feeling they had chances to win the game.

Purton will look to be more clinical next weekend as they travel to Malmesbury Victoria Development looking for an ever important three points.
