Cirencester Town manager Charlie Griffin confirmed that defender Alexandru Albert has left the club.

The Romanian defender re-joined the club earlier this season but after discussions with Griffin, he left the Corinium ahead of Saturday’s 8-2 victory over Bideford.

Albert has been travelling from London to feature for The Centurions.

Griffin admitted it was a difficult decision but feels the club need to move on without him.

“It’s a tough one because Alex is living in London,” Griffin said.

“He’s a great lad and was with us last year and he lived around this way.

“We had to make a few decisions on it and spoke to Alex in the week and he understood.

“He’s a great lad and he wishes us all the best and hopefully he’ll be down to see a couple of games if he’s not playing.

“I appreciate all his effort but it’s one of those things in football but we thanks Alex and we’ve move just got to move on now.”

Griffin’s side ended a run of four games without a win with the demolition of Bideford but he revealed he is still on the lookout for new recruits.

“We’re hoping to if we can in the right areas,” said Griffin.

“We want to make those play-offs come the end of the season so we must be strong.

“They’ve got to be the right additions and we’ll go from there.”
