STEVE EDWARDS was back on the podium after running his 855th marathon.
On Saturday, February 9, Edwards took part in the Philosopher’s Run Egham and finished in 3:32:20 for a lucky first place.
He was back in the saddle after a five week marathon break with eight leg sapping laps along a wet and muddy Thames path.
After the race, Edwards said: “I’m pleased to start the march towards the 900 milestone with a 66th marathon win.”
On Sunday, February 17, Edwards was back in action for Marathon number 856 - Nottingham Lets Go round Again and finished in 3:27:35 for second V55 and in seventh place overall.
He had hard work contending with a very strong breeze around nine laps of Holme Pierrepont water park so was pleased to get the sub 3:30.
Elsewhere, Phil and Marie Brush were at Castle Combe Chilly Duathlon on Sunday.
Phil was sixth overall in a time of 45.3, Marie was second female in a time of 50.16.

Viven D’Alton was running for the first time at the Forest of Dean, D’Alton achieved a PB in 26.21 and first in her age group VW55-59.
