CIRENCESTER Town forward Ben Whitehead scored a late equaliser for an FA select XI in a 2-2 draw with Herefordshire FA XI at Edgar Street on Tuesday night.

Whitehead was joined by fellow Cirencester stars Will Christopher and Louis Spalding in the game to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Herefordshire FA.

The FA select XI took the lead through Shaquille Whittingham on 21 minutes which came seven minutes after John Mills put a penalty wide for the Herefordshire FA.

The hosts did get another chance from spot on 23 minutes though, James Roberts found the net to level the match.

Herefordshire took the lead two minutes into the second half when Jamie Molyneux finished to turn the game on its head.

Whitehead had the final word though and ensured it would finish all square.

Elsewhere, Cirencester Town played out a 2-2 draw in a friendly with Chippenham Town on Tuesday which saw Academy captain Taylor Burt involved for the first team.
