HELLENIC PREMIER DIVISION

Fairford Town had a day to forget as they were humbled by Shrivenham in their first match in four weeks.

Shrivenham took the lead early in the second half before Jody Bevan's side were reduced to 10 men after Ben Snook's red card before the hosts increased their advantage.

Fairford made a good start to the game as they had an early effort cleared off the line after seven minutes.

The visitors missed a handful of chances in the first half as they went into the break level.

Shrivenham took the lead just six minutes into the second half when Josh Parsons broke the offside trap to finish past Harry Ellis.

Things got worse for Fairford when Ben Snook was given a red card for kicking the ball into an opponents face.

Shrivenham doubled their lead against the ten-men on 70 minutes when Tom Ballard's fizzing shot found the net.

The hosts wrapped it up in the 93rd minute when Parson's linked up with Ryan Stanners before he rolled the ball home for his second of the match and a bad day at the office ended for Fairford.

The result leaves Fairford in 12th position in Hellenic Premier Division.

Their next league game is away at eighth place Flackwell Heath this Saturday before they host bottom club Longlevens on Tuesday, February 19.
