EAMONN CUTHBERT made a mockery of his 28 handicap with a runaway victory in the Seniors’ Stableford at Cirencester Golf Club last Wednesday.

A birdie/birdie start set up Eamonn’s charge and he came in with a scintillating 45 points on a cold day when most of the field also had to face some rain.

The win earned Eamonn a three-shot handicap cut to 25.

He has some history for low scoring in that he was part of the winning group in the Cirencester Senior Team Open back in September.

Runner-up overall and the Division One winner was Brian Whittaker who scored 41 points off eight.

Brian put together a super round and was just one over par standing on the 18th tee; a frustrating double bogey six there slightly spoiled an otherwise brilliant card.

Four players scored birdie twos: Bob Allen & Eamonn Cuthbert (2nd), Dave Exton (9th) and Ian Hunter (13th).
