Forest Green 1 Bury 2: Ashley Loveridge’s player ratings as Forest Green fell to a 2-1 defeat to Bury on Saturday afternoon in League Two - but what did we make of the performance?

James Montgomery

He knows that Reading loanee Lewis Ward is waiting in the wings. He was neat and tidy, but perhaps should have got a glove on NickyMaynard’s late winner. 6/10.

Farrend Rawson

Comfortable in possession and kept Maynard and company at bay in the first-half. 7/10.

Gavin Gunning

In rude health and displayed a fine array of passing – rarely troubled. 7/10

Nathan McGinley

Back to his imperious best in Rovers’ three-man defence – always on the front foot. 7/10.

Joseph Mills

The pony-tailed attacking wing-back played his part in Rovers’ opener – heading the ball into the path of Reece Brown 7/10.

LIoyd James

Huffed and puffed, but couldn’t blow the Bury door down. Hooked for Junior Mondal in the dying moments of the game. 6/10.

Carl Winchester

Will rue his sixth-minute one-on-one miss, which should have given Rovers a dream start. 6/10

Liam Shephard

A real attacking threat down the right in the first-half and played his part in Rovers' goal, but his high standards were compromised as Bury profited on his patch in the latter stages of the game. 7/10.

Reece Brown

Pulled the strings in the first-half as Rovers bossed the opening 45 minutes. Capped an impressive half with the opening goal. Lost his way after the break. 7/10.

Christian Doidge

Rightly reserved the loudest cheer of the day on his first start for Rovers following the collapse of his switch to Bolton.

Almost marked his return to Rovers with a goal, but his delicate chip landed on the roof of the Bury net. Hooked off for Tav Campbell with nine minutes to go. 6/10.

George Williams

In rich scoring form, Williams struggled to get a foothold in the game and lost his footing in the second-half when he looked odds on to score. Subbed on 71 minutes for Shawn McCoulsky 6/10.
