Bourton Rovers reached the semi-finals of the Gloucestershire Amateur Cup with a thumping win away at Cheltenham Civil Service.

Manager Scott Powles welcomed back defenders Jake Forster and Callum Trott into the squad after four weeks out with injuries.

The game started with Rovers dominating and Cheltenham Civil Service sitting deep.Rovers moved the ball quickly and at times created good openings but not enough to threaten Civils goal.

Rovers were awarded a penalty in the 15th minute but the spot kick was missed when Connor Teague blazed over the bar. However, Bourton were 1-0 up three minutes later when Danny Way scored direct from a wide free-kick.

Rovers continued to dominate and on the 28th minute were awarded another penalty which was this time despatched by Way into the bottom corner.

Cheltenham Civil Service then pressed and were on top until the half time whistle.

The second half started with Rovers pressing but unable to find an early goal to kill the game off.Way completed his hat-trick in the 58th minute as he struck home from 10 yards.

Rovers quickly went four up when Steve Nurse latched onto a through ball and calmly lifted it over the outrushing keeper.

Cheltenham Civil Service quickly pulled one back after a defensive mix up but Rovers scored two minutes later when Fielding fired home from inside the box.

Civil then scored their second with a well directed header in the dying minutes.

The game finished 5-2 and saw Bourton progress into the semi finals for the second year running.

Manager Scott Powles praised his team for their efforts and was delighted to give members of his squad a good run out.

Rovers face a tough trip away to Abingdon Utd this coming Saturday in Division Two West Hellenic League.

Rovers will be without Teague and Chris Cooper for the tricky away trip.
