Dursley 21

Cirencester 17

TABLE-TOPPING Cirencester were the visitors on a sunny cold November afternoon, they left with a losing bonus point, on a day when both teams scored three tries, the winning difference proved to be Lennard's kicking skills.

Dursley found themselves 7-0 down after five minutes when they gifted the visitors a try under the post following an incepted pass. The score saw Cirencester take control of the game and it was no surprise when following a lineout they increased their lead with a try just wide of the posts.

The game settled down with much of the play either side of the halfway line, one area Dursley started to dominate was the scrum, pushing the visiting pack backwards on both feeds, however after 28 minutes Cirencester worked the ball with speed across the backline scoring five-yards in from the touchline, which proved to be the last score for the visitors.

Five minutes before half-time Dursley gave themselves a glimmer of hope when Perrett scooped up a loose ball out on the wing, broke through two attempted tackles setting off at pace down the wing slipping an inside pass to Cole who raced away to score under the posts, Lennard added the two points.

Whatever coach Jack Robinson said at half-time had the desired effect as Dursley restricted the visitors to a few punts forward to enter the Cirencester half, this sustained pressure saw Goodison score after strong forward play and a great offload from Cowley, Lennard made it 14. 17.

The forwards were enjoying the dominance, winning breakdown ball at ease and giving the visiting pack a scrum lesson. It was fitting when the winning score came after several phases of play as Camm proved unstoppable as he crashed over. Lennard added the two points with eight minutes left to play.

Dursley's game performance was a lesson in what a team sport looks like, to a man they supported each other in every aspect of the game, and it was no surprise when joint man of the match went to Camm and Lennard.
