BRIMSCOMBE boss Sam Prior lauded his side after a 3-0 victory over Holmer Green, writes Paul Joannou.

The Lilywhites sit second in the Hellenic Premier Division, going into tonight's home clash against Lydney Town, 7.45pm and Prior is confident his side are in rude health after goals from Chris Pates, Ollie Pitt and Ashley Caldwell made it a comfortable three points for the Stroud side.

Prior said: “If we match Saturday, then we’ll be in a good position to win the game against Lydney.

“After Lydney it’s Virginia Water away and Longlevens at home and we want nine points from that, especially in the home games we want to do our bit and in the position we’re in you look to win those game and if we meet the standards of Saturday against Holmer Green, then we’ll be in a good position.”

Prior is happy with his side's current league position.

He added: “If someone said to me after 18 games we’d be second, I’d have snapped your hand off. There’s been games against Brackley Town Saints (league leaders) where we lost 1-0 and against Bishop's Cleeve, where it was 0-0 until they scored in the 80th minute, the only one we really lost ourselves was Ardley last week.”
