Thornbury Running Club’s Henry Orna and Matt Johnstone took part in two challenging trail races at the weekend.

Henry was coming into Sunday’s Bath Hilly Half race, which starts and ends at the racecourse, after a strong run in the previous weekend’s cross country and carried over his form to the Cotswold Way terrain.

His finishing position in the ‘Hilly Half’ was 19th overall in a competitive field in 1 hour 47:24 mins.

Matt joined the masses at the highly popular Sodbury Slog on Sunday morning.

After gaining some places in the first half of the race, Matt lost a similar amount of places in the second half after succumbing to the effects of one of the leg-sapping muddy trenches.

Matt’s final position was 14th overall and 4th in the MV40 age category in 1 hour 12:25 mins.
