Forest Green travel to leaders Lincoln City on Saturday, looking for their third consecutive victory in Sky Bet League Two.

Rovers go into the game buoyed by their 2-1 win away at high flying Exeter City last weekend and could climb into the automatic promotion places with victory at Sincil Bank.

A rivalry has grown over recent years between the two clubs, who were promoted from the National League together in 2017 and there's no love lost between the two managers.

Here is everything you need to know about tomorrow’s game.

Opponent: Lincoln City
Location: Sincil Bank
Kick Off: 3pm

TEAM NEWS

Mark Cooper confirmed Reuben Reid has trained following a medial ligament injury and says he will be back involved on Saturday.

Farrend Rawson is also available after serving a suspension.

Lincoln boss Danny Cowley hopes to have experienced duo Lee Frecklington and Neil Eardley back from injury.

Midfielder Ellis Chapman will miss the game as he is serving the final game of his three-match ban.

FORM GUIDE

Forest Green are three unbeaten in League Two and have won their last two games. Rovers are scoring on average two goals a game away from home.

Lincoln have hit their first sticky spell in what’s been a fine season so far for the Imps. They’ve not won any of their last three matches and have won just two of their last six league games.

They have however lost just one of their eight home games so far.

PREVIOUS MEETING

Lincoln City 2-1 Forest Green – December 30 2017 Matt Rhead scored either side of a Christian Doidge strike to give the hosts three points.

MANAGERS VIEW

Mark Cooper: “We try and stay out of all this and it’s not about the management teams, it’s is about the players really.

"At the end of your career, no matter what you've won, it's the respect of your peers that's important.

“I just focus on my players and team and get ready for what should be a brilliant occasion on Saturday.

“It’s a brilliant atmosphere at Sincil Bank and that’s something we look forward to and something the players should revel in.”

Danny Cowley told Lincolnshire Live: “We respect Forest Green, probably more than they respect us, but hey-ho. We respect what they’ve done. They’ve done well, firstly by getting into League Two.

“They’ve had a brilliant start to the season and have only lost one game in 90 minutes in 21.

“That record certainly deserves respect and they’ve got good players at this level. A bit like us, they’ve earned the right to be in League Two and the funding that comes with it.

“We’ve had some really good games against them over the last two years.”

PREDICTED LINE-UP

(4-2-3-1) Sanchez, Shephard, Gunning, McGinley, Mills, Digby, James, Winchester, Brown, Grubb, Campbell.

SNJ VERDICT

It should be a cracking game at Sincil Bank. Lincoln are the joint leading scorers and their defensive record is only bettered by Mansfield Town and MK Dons.

Forest Green have scored 16 goals away from home. The Imps have only kept one clean sheet at home so far this season so should Rovers start on the front foot, they shouldn’t have too much trouble finding the net.

The two managers have had their war of words in the past. Cooper refused to get too drawn into that while Cowley talked up the supposed differing respect levels between the clubs.

Rovers’ recent record against the Imps isn’t great with Lincoln winning all four meetings since Cowley and Cooper took charge of the clubs.

Forest Green seem to excel in the bigger games and should be on a high from their impressive win at Exeter. The chance to move into the top three will bring an added incentive.
