The big one. Forest Green take on Cheltenham Town in the second instalment of 'El Glosico' at the New Lawn on Saturday.

Rovers will be aiming to bounce back from their first defeat of season with victory against their rivals, who are fresh after they didn't play last weekend.

Here all the details ahead of the derby.

Opponent: Cheltenham Town Location: The New Lawn Kick Off: 3pm

TEAM NEWS

Mark Cooper confirmed all the players trained on Thursday ahead of the game and Forest Green have no new injury concerns.

As for Cheltenham, Sean Long is back in training while Michael Duff confirmed Aden Baldwin and Tom Field will be unavailable. Chris Hussey may also be available.

FORM GUIDE

It was unlucky 13 for Forest Green as they lost their first game of the season at the first time of asking. They still haven't lost at home so far this season, having won two and drawn five in all competitions.

Cheltenham have gone five league games without a win. They've won just one of their last seven matches and are yet to win at home this season.

PREVIOUS MEETING

Forest Green 4-0 Cheltenham

A memorable night for Rovers fans, even if it was in the Checkatrade Trophy. Goals from Tahvon Campbell, Dayle Grubb, George Williams and Isaac Pearce sealed an emphatic derby win for Rovers.

The teams have met four times since Forest Green's promotion to the EFL with Rovers winning two and drawing two.

MANAGERS VIEW

Mark Cooper:

"We've worked really hard this week. The intensity of the week has been really good. In a way, it's good that we've got the unbeaten monkey off our back as we're now not worrying about being unbeaten and we can focus on winning some games.

"We'll pick the best team to beat Cheltenham like we do in every game.

"The hardest thing in football is to win a game, scoring the second most difficult but decision making is key and that's what separates the best players from those further down the pyramid.

"I expect Cheltenham to be right at it. It's a derby, bragging rights and pride is at stake. I'm sure Michael Duff will be saying the same thing but it's three points. We'll be desperate to win but our players have done brilliant so far."

Michael Duff:

"I understand how important it is, particularly to the supporters, but it means a lot to the players as well. I wasn’t here for the last game, but that hurt them I know that for a fact. Ultimately it’s only three points and there is no getting away from the next game always being the most important game.

"There isn’t any more detail going into this game because I’d like to think we prepare properly for every game. But the players will know about the importance of it, just from outside influences and the staff will let them know, but they’ll know anyway. The players care and the 4-0 hurt them, so that’ll still be with them."

Predicted line-up

3-5-2: Sanchez, Digby, Rawson, McGinley, Shephard, Mills, Brown, James, Winchester, Grubb, Reid.

SNJ VERDICT

Last week's defeat could all be forgotten about with three points in El Glosico. Forest Green could move back into the play-offs with a win while Cheltenham could slip into the bottom two as they are just one point clear of the drop zone.

It was an agonising way to lose the unbeaten run but looking at the bigger picture, Rovers were the better side in the first half and lost by only a single goal seven minutes into six minutes of injury time.

The players will be hurting so that siege mentality and determination to bounce back could come in handy. Cheltenham have had two weeks to prepare. Plenty of time for Duff to do his homework and prepare his players which may give them an advantage.

It should be an intense battle and it has the feeling of a 'dare not lose' game for both sides.

Prediction:

Paul Joannou: Forest Green 1-0 Cheltenham Ash Loveridge: Forest Green 2-1 Cheltenham
