Cirencester Tow Dev. 6

Malmesbury Victoria 0

Cirencester Town Development ended a run of four games without a win with an emphatic victory over Malmesbury Victoria in the Hellenic League Subsidiary Cup on Tuesday.

Malmesbury boss Kevin Bridgeman made eight changes to his team as he had one eye on their FA Vase fixture against Virginia Water this weekend.

Cirencester found themselves 2-0 up at half time thanks to a Dan Gudger strike and an own goal.

Dan Roberts made it 3-0 five minutes into the second half when his swinging free kick missed everybody and found it’s way into the back of the net.

On 55 minutes, Connor Hibbs stabbed the ball home to make it four before Gudger got his second goal seven minutes later.

Substitute Josh Ukoha completed the rout on 69 minutes with a brilliant solo effort which rounded off the perfect evening for Cirencester.

The Development side are back in league action on Saturday.

They host Carteton at the Corinium Stadium. A win could see them move into the top four of the Hellenic Division One West.

Malmesbury are still unbeaten in the league with their most recent win was a 2-0 victory at Newent Town away on Saturday in the league.

They've now scored 25 goals overall in Hellenic Division One West so far.
