Zara Tindall was back competing after recently giving birth to her and Mike’s second daughter Lena. Zara finished sixth in Open Intermediate section H with High Kingdom and also competed in the CIC* with Gladstone, finishing 22nd at the Whatley Manor International Horse Trials at Gatcombe Park.

Great Britain’s Tom Jackson and Dusty II won the prestigious CIC** event.

Zara Tindall was back competing after recently giving birth to her and Mike’s second daughter Lena. Zara finished sixth in Open Intermediate section H with High Kingdom and also competed in the CIC* with Gladstone, finishing 22nd at the Whatley Manor International Horse Trials at Gatcombe Park.

Tom and Dusty II came first, scoring 29.0 to collect the Guzerat Trophy from HRH The Princess Royal. Tom also took 10th with Capels Hollow Drift, which saw 16 eliminations in the cross country phase.

Runner-up was Alice Tracey with Freedom Hill. This combination posted an impressive dressage score of 21.8. A clear round across the country left them with a significant lead going in to the final phase but two rolled poles added eight penalties giving them a final score of 29.8, dropping them to second. In third was Alexander Braggt with King of the Mill, they completed on their dressage score of 30.6. Alex rode eight horses over the three days of competition with 5 top ten placings. Lucy Jackson came fourth with Willy Do.

British born Lucy who rides for New Zealand, had been considering retiring 17 year old Willy Do after this event, but has decided to reconsider.

The CIC* was won by Italian rider Giovanni Ugolotti and Penhill Celtic who led from the start and completed on their dressage score of 28.0. This was the third win in a row for the six year old Penhill Celtic who was originally bought for his Italian owner Andrea Vecchi to ride.

David Sheerin and Todays Special took second with Phoebe Locke and Union Fortunus in 3rd.

West Littleton’s Harry Meade won the Open Novice section P with Brookfield Quality and was 5th in Nov sec J with Brookfield Cavalier Cruise. Harry also took 5th in Intermediate section D with Monbeg Medlar and 8th in Open Int sec H with Tenareze.

Becky Woolven who's based near Tetbury took second in Intermediate section D with Everlyne, 5th in Novice section L with Bright Bramble and 13th in Novice section K with Maggies Law.

Tom Grant from Malmesbury won Novice section J with Caravaggio II and was 3rd in Novice section N with Oakfield Wild Heart.

Georgie Brazingtontook second in Intermediate section E with Harthill Jaguar. This was the first time competing at Gatcombe for 18 year old Georgie and her horse.

Kitty King took third in Novice section I with MHS Fernhill Finale.
