LEEDS UNITED have made a last-minute addition to their development squad with a deal to sign Forest Green Rovers midfielder Jordan Stevens, according to the Yorkshire Post.
The 17-year-old is understood to have sealed a move at 9.45pm tonight and will link up with United’s Under-23s midway through his first season in professional football.
Gloucester-born Stevens, who graduated from Scott Bartlett's Forest Green academy, broke into Rovers' senior set up at the start of this term, bursting onto the scene with a goal off the bench against Cheltenham Town in the Checkatrade Trophy.
He made his first league start against League Two leaders Luton Town last month.
United faced competition from a number of clubs, including some in the Premier League, but have secured Stevens’ signature ahead of today’s 11pm January deadline.
