Cirencester Ladies’ 1st XI 6
North Wilts Ladies 2

CIRENCESTER Ladies moved top of the league with a 6-2 win over North Wilts despite a display that failed to match their form of recent weeks.

They were a goal down after 10 minutes and though Kath Fry equalised before the break, coach Paul Anstee had to deliver a few home truths at the interval.

The second half saw an improved, but still disjointed performance.

Hannah Denning bucked the trend delivering great offensive support from midfield to earn her Player of the Match.

Megan Poole scored early in the second half and while sloppy defending saw North Wilts pull level again, four further goals from Tabba Wood, Jess Weston and a further two from Fry earned all the points.

Cirencester Ladies’ 2nd XI 2 Lansdown Ladies’ 2nd XI 2

CIRENCESTER’S 2nd XI maintained their unbeaten record despite a disappointing game. The goals came from Jules Carter and Amber Birkett via well-worked short corner routines.

PoM: Vicky Plume.

Cirencester Ladies’ 3rd XI 0 Stroud Ladies’ 2nd XI 5

SECOND-IN-THE-LEAGUE Stroud proved too strong for Cirencester, as they took charge in midfield and kept Cirencester on the back foot for long periods.

Cirencester, who were 3-0 down at half-time, improved after the interval but were unable to prevent a further two goals. Thanks to Charlie Austin for stepping into the breach at the last minute.

Cirencester Ladies’ 4th XI 1 Painswick Ladies 1

A GREAT performance from keeper Caroline McKemey made sure the points were shared as Cirencester faced a tough away match against Painswick.

First blood went to Painswick before Saskia Longsdon scored a superbly-worked team goal to level.
