Running Somewhere Else
Parkruns
THERE was a busy weekend of park running by various club members at a variety of venues.
Some of our ladies even mixed with Olympians. As a thank you to lottery funding, many Olympians agreed to take part in their local parkrun.
So in Cheltenham, Kate Potter, Jenny Hoffman, Ruth Herbert and Alice Mason ran alongside former Olympic rower James Cracknell.
Cheltenham results: Ruth Herbert 29.37, Alice Mason 29.45, Kate Potter 30.21, Jenny Hoffmann 31.12.
Brighton and Hove Parkrun: Amelia Culshaw finished in 22.07.
Swindon Parkrun: Steve Sandercock 25.45, Martyn Joyce 28.18, Caroline Sandercock 33.39, and Elspeth Murano, who volunteered as tail to finish in 1:02.05.
York Parkrun: Matt Lambourne 28.03.
Portobello Parkrun, Edinburgh: Pete Whitmore 39.15.
Escrick 10km
MATT LAMBOURNE took part in the Escrick 10km, a flat multi-terrain race in York, and finished in 40.37.
Tough Mudder Weekend
A NUMBER of RSE club members tackled this year's Tough Mudder South West in Badminton, a 10-mile course with obstacle names like the “Arctic Enema”, designed to test strength, stamina and mental grit.
Well done to Nadine Brown, Phil Scoble, Ryo Taylor, Emily Jeffries and Jon Collins who all took part in their different teams.
