FAIRFORD Cricket Club recently celebrated raising almost £25,000 towards the purchase and installation of new nets with an open evening.
Special guests were Jennie Sanford, mayor of Fairford; Jonathan Stebbing representing landlords, the Ernest Cook Trust; Gloucestershire's Graeme van Buuren, who has played for the South Africa U19s; Fran Wilson, who has recently toured Sri Lanka with the England Academy and Lisa Pagett from the Glos Cricket Board.
Junior cricketers, Archie Armstrong, Albie Cornwell, Genny Morris and Alice Mundy had the honour to be the first players to bowl a ball using the new nets.
