Lungbuster 2016

TEN intrepid Running Somewhere Else Club members enjoyed a great off-road run at the 2016 Lungbuster on Sunday.

Starting from Broad Hinton village hall, the group were led along a gravel path through a farmyard to the start of the race along with the total of 179 starters.

The race took in an undulating nine miles over farmland, tracks and woodland through mud, mud, mud, lots of water and more mud!

First home for the club was Martin Pitts in 1:25.09 followed by Sharon Smith 1:36.59, Sally Jamieson 1:49.09, Kirsty Pitts 1.49.09, Sarah Gray 1:55.35, Louise Abbott 1:55.36, Jenny Hoffman, Tracy Edginton and Kate Potter all on 2:00.03 and Caroline Terry 2:22.12.

Torremolinos Half-Marathon

LAURA MADDISON ventured a little further away at the weekend to run in the Torremolinos Half-Marathon.

The first seven miles of the course took the runners along the very flat beach promenade, before heading into the country and becoming much more undulating for the last six miles. More than 1,800 runners competed.

Centurion Grand Prix series

DAVE WITNALL ran in this year's five-mile Centurion Grand Prix series on Sunday in Solihull. Dave finished in 33.13.

Swindon: Claire Joyce 29.35 and Elspeth Murano 45.26.

Milton Keynes: Pete Whitmore 33.28.
