DAVID and Esther Williams (Letters, May 28) claim that “most of us know that our economy did not fail because of Labour government spending...”
Oh, really? So why did Liam Byrne leave a note saying that there was no money left at the end of Labour’s disastrous term in office?
Chancellors’ Gordon Brown followed by Alastair Darling brought the whole country to its knees through reckless overspending and feckless borrowing, and it is typical of the blinkered attitude of the Labour Party not to admit that truth.
Because of their car crash of economic irresponsibility, the Tories were forced to implement cuts that have been tough for all, but sensible people can see that the economy is now improving beyond the hopes of many.
That is just one reason of many that most sensible people voted Tory.
