FOR the past couple of years, Mum and I have organised a Macmillan coffee morning to raise money for a good cause.

Myself, my sisters and our mum have all looked after people with cancer and have loved and lost people to it too. I would hope and want there to be support for my family if they ever needed it.

A big thank you to local music group and family friends Ethemia, who spared some of their precious time to sing a few of their songs.

Mum put collection boxes in the village shops and this year was better than last year. South Cerney customers truly are generous.

Thank you to The Laurels Pharmacy, Red Onion and South Cerney Chip Shop customers, and a huge thank you to Spar Shop who collected more than £130 in their box. The saying ‘every penny counts’ is totally true.

Collection boxes, money from cake sales, donations, percentage donations from stall sales on the day all added up to a whopping £694.85, totally smashing last year’s amount by nearly £300.

Thank you Jeannie for donating jewellery, my mum (Jean Qioniwasa) for all her hard work baking, and thank you to everyone else who donated.

The weather was fine, Cakes and games all set up for another fun time.

Friends, family and ladies wandered in off the street, Our amount last year raised we were hoping to beat.

The raffle was drawn Two certain ladies were very lucky.

It was making the other players a little bit clucky.

Our special guests were local band Ethemia.

One of their youngest fans, Gracie Glinn, was bopping away, You should’ve seen her sat in her pram dancing, her cousin Freya Bell singing all made it a lovely day.

Thank you everyone.
