A CRASH between a lorry and two cars on the M4 motorway is causing considerable delays.

The closure on the westbound carriageway between junctions 18 and 19 follows the incident that happened at around 8.30am today.

Following the collision, the lorry overturned on the westbound carriageway and its fuel tank has been ruptured.

Recovery of the lorry is now in progress. Once the lorry to be righted and towed off the carriageway an assessment of damage to barriers and the carriageway can be made.

Westbound traffic is being directed to leave the M4 at Junction 18 and follow the solid black circle diversion route to rejoin the M4 at Junction 19.

Drivers are advised of delays and to plan their journeys and listen to the last traffic reports for the latest information.
