ENGLAND'S oldest hotel in Malmesbury has reopened this week following recent restorations.
The hotel reopened on Monday at midday, attended by Deputy Mayor, Cllr Fran Vandelli.
The Grade 1 listed The Old Bell Hotel, located next to the 12th century abbey in the centre of the town, initially closed on January 2 to allow for restoration works to take place.
The family owned hotel is ran by general manager, Christophe Dumeige.
He said of the reopening: “We are very proud of the Old Bell Hotel and intend it to be the best Country House Hotel in a Town Centre in the UK.
“This is a place for visitors and local residents to enjoy drinks, dine, unwind and spend time with friends and family.
“Our new Head Chef, Frederic Fetiveau has created menus of Modern British Classics for relaxed lunches, Afternoon Tea and Sunday lunches.
“The Bar provides an extensive range of wines, cult wines by the glass, cocktails, gins and drinks with drama for relaxed fun times.
“Our guests will enjoy elegant and stylish rooms with options for private dining.”
