PASSENGERS planning on travelling by train this weekend are being urged by rail operator Great Western Railway (GWR) to check before they travel as engineering work will continue in the local area.

On Sunday, trains running between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads will be diverted and not call at Didcot Parkway, Swindon or Chippenham.

There will be alterntaive services running to Didcot and Swindon, while replacement bus services will also run between Swindon, Chippenham and Bath Spa.

There will also be disruption on the main line between Swindon and Bristol Parkway on Sunday, with services from London Paddington to South Wales not calling at Bristol Parkway. A rail replacement bus service will operate between Swindon and Bristol Parkway.

Buses will also replace services between Swindon and Westbury on Sunday.

Engineering work will continue into next week, with services running after 10.45pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings being diverted between Swindon and Bristol Parkway, running later after Parkway.
