WE started very well, got a good goal and then rather went into our shells. We stopped being as expressive as we were at the start, but I was happy enough to be 1-0 up the break.

In the second half, I thought we picked them off and I was quite comfortable.

Jon Else shows unbelievable quality in training and that goal was right up there – it was a fine strike.

Maybe the first penalty was a bit lucky – some say it had gone out of play – but the second was cast iron.

We have now got to get going in the league.

In the last three games we played brilliantly in the first half against Bedford, we were excellent throughout at Barwell and I thought we were quietly efficient on Saturday.

I’m not saying it is the whole reason, but it is no coincidence that those three games have seen the return of Nathan Davies.

We have a very young side and he brings an old head in there.

He has come back very fit considering his long spell off. He’s put in a lot of work, played some games in Wales and he runs an U19s team now so his fitness has been a bonus.

Also, a word for Matt Ford, who came on early for Mitch Bryant. Fordy needs a lot of work but one day he is going to be a player.
